I've only had one problem with one seller: Master Tuner Akimoto. He sold me a complete 88 headlight/motor/harness at a pretty hefty price and the left motor was totally shot. Wouldn't even spring for the $10 Rodney repair kit.
Everyone else I have purchased from has been great.
I would like to see an ebay style rating system for the mall. It is not perfect, but would be a lot better guide. The rating bar is not always a good guide to use for buying/selling.

The only person who I have really had trouble with has disappeared from the forum and supposedly left the country. I have filed mail fraud papers against him with the USPS so he will have a surprise waiting for him whenever he files taxes or shows up on record anywhere...

There are so many good people to deal with on this forum that the list would be almost as long as the member list.. Off the top of my head...

I sold you a complete headlight harness motors and module from an 88 car for $130 shipped of which $11 was shipping and you said you were satisfied then about a month later you called telling me that one motor was not opening all the way I then told you chances the gear was broken and you could obtain one from Rodney or get one from the help section in your local autoparts store ,$130 was a fair price for a part that was in demand and if you spend $10 to buy a gear you are not loosing any thing .The amount of PM you sent asking me to send you $10 to buy the part you could have just returned the harness and I would have gladly refunded your money minus the shipping so if you want to send it back do so now .I pick and choose who I do business with on this forum and I rarely sell any thing on here to avoid problems like this for $10 at least I did not take your money for weeks and gave you a line of

I've had good experiences with all but one person on the forum, and his screen name had changed and then he had been banned as of last I knew (almost two years ago), but to hint at him, he was located in Florida.
Other than that, I could not begin to name all of the people I've bought things from, but everything went well.

Its good to tell the whole story isnt it? NO need to explain MTA, we all know who you are and what kind of business practices you have. Hell that post could be true to the T, Id still buy from you, no questions asked. When you have a good rep.......people by from said person without any doubts.
Im no seller, but I try to be like that as a buyer. Quick pays, timely emails.......and happened twice to me "please can you wait til friday?" Oh and I was busy all weekend and missed out on some brake calipers. I REALLY felt bad about that one, cause I said I'd buy em, and the seller got tired of waiting on me (totally understandable) So I guess I'm down to 99% then.
Yes we need a system like ebay does. But not that important, most of us know each other by now

Well I have sold Items here, so this is from a sellers stand point. I have shipped slow but I always have shipped, with my Job schedule it is difficult to the post office during the week so I only ship out on Saturdays. All Items purchased from me with the exception of 1( the person is aware of it) are shipped or in the hands of the owners. When I get home I will edt this message with a list of good buyers
Well, at least I'm not on the bad list yet.....lol. Guyz, I try very hard to do what I say. Most of you know of my back condition and it just plain takes me longer. Fortunately, I have an 18 yo guy that helps me from time to time.
Like all businesses, I try to please everyone, but as they say " you can please some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can never please all the people all the time". You get my drift anyway.........lol.
If anyone has any problems with me, I'd appreciate a chance to talk with them about it and work something out. Thanks for your time, my friends.

I recieved everything and everything LOOKED fine. Obviously I didn't jump right out to the Fiero and start ripping the old headlight assemblies and harness out. I assumed that everything that was sold to me was in PROPER working order. Now once I went through and soldered all the cheap butt connection splices and reloomed the entire harness and had it installed, I discovered that what you sold me did not work properly. Now you wouldn't even send the repair kit and don't give me the line that I wouldn't have been out anything, becuase I put all that time into fixing all the bad connections and installing the harness. Then I would have had to tear the motor apart and rebuid it. So yes I would have been out alot of time and aggervation. Seems pretty silly. And the returning the item to you was never brought up as an option, so don't try to make yourself look good. Tell the whole story. Thankfully other Forum members helped me where you failed to, and I appreciate that. And I'm sure all other members I have purchased from well tell you I am an upstanding buyer. If I were trying to rip you off, don't ya think I would ask for something a bit more pricey than a $10 part. Get real. I my eyes you did nothing to help the situation, but be sarcastic. *edit* The part that did not work, was the left side headlight motor. A replacement has been fitted and works perfectly thanks to riverhalen.

I really don't have the time to bicker and call names over what could have been that would be childish on my part,I sold you the harness and the rest of the parts as it came from the car naturally if you buy used parts chances are with the age of these cars it is expected you will run into problems (and this was not major like the motor was totally nonfunctional) and have to do some repairs so if you had to reloom it or change some "cheap"connectors( that is how GM made it ) it is natural for a 20 year old part but to try to make a big fuss over a $10 part give me a break,be an upstanding member and return it I will return refund your money and that will be the end of your fussing for $10 to fix if not I will leave this post as it stands .

The entire harness had been cut and butt spliced together. Thats the least of my concerns, the stupid thing is fixed and in the car, I'm not going return it now that everything functions properly. The whole point here is that you weren't willing to send a measly $10 to make the situation right, hence I am a unsatisfied buyer. End of story.

From a third party perspective that both buys and sells stuff here. I think I am unbiased and have never dealt directly with either one of you.
It the headlights were sold/bought as junkyard parts then it is the luck of the draw. If it was sold as a used part to fix a car then it should have worked. Used parts are assumed they will work on install but no guaranty they will in a few months. Junkyard parts are a matter of you get what you get. If they were sold as cores then it is expected that they need repair.

Actually I have bought from you before....a wind deflector and sunroof seal rails...lol. Very smooth transaction and great parts! It's not so much the point that the motor didn't work(was sold as a used part not a junkyard part) it's that nothing was done to remedy the problem. I am pretty easy to please, but if you cross me obvioulsy I take serious offense to that.
I did my first transaction on pff with Electrathon, and it went great! hes a great seller, prompt to pms and shipping! i was a little scared seeing all the stuff that goes down in this mall sometimes, but with him i would not worry and would recommend him to anyone. thanks!
I've never had a bad experience or have gotten ripped off on PFF even once, and I buy and sell alot!!! This is one of the few message boards that I feel 100% safe buying/selling.
Same goes for me selling ... everyone has gotten their parts from me or their money back. I apologize to AusFiero for the long wait for his money back for some 88 headlights I sold him, heh.

I bought 2 Fieros from this forum, a Pontiac radio, and a bumper. All was perfect except for the bumper. That person did take care of the problem though and gave my money back. I would still buy from him though.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I forgot all about the sunroof stuff. I do try to get things out as fast as possible. There were a couple times when other life issues have slowed me down on shipping but I usually find it less confusing to ship stuff out as fast as possible so I do not have to worry about keeping track of stuff. I sell a lot of parts here (parting out cars one piece at a time) and have stayed away from ebay just due to the headaches it can bring. I can buy and sell here and have very few hassles. Where else on the internet can you send money to someone you never met and be reasonably well assured that the transaction will go well.
The more parts I can sell the more I can fix my car Just got the engine done and working twords the body/paint next.

I trust Master Tuner Akimoto enough to have dropped my Fiero off at his house to fi a wiring problem (I caused the problem). I've met the man and trust him completely. The sad thing is one bad situation is being broadcast as the only judgement. I trust the man and will do further business in the future. If I buy a used part out of a dead car I assume it may need some "Fine Tuning". If the person advertised it as running I'd be really upset. I just want to give another side to this man for others to consider.

I'm am not saying Master Tuner is a bad person. I am only sharing my experience, which happend not to be the greatest one. Everything is done and over with, I just would have liked the situation to be handled better. I'm not saying never buy from him, just sharing my point of view.

I have delt with Many, Many Pff'ers, and only had a few bad experiances, one was with smooth.. it took him a while to ghip his stuff to me, but he DID come through!! and i think he has changed his ways another bad one was Bouch, it took him a long time to ship me an inner fenderwell, like almost 2 months
i hae delt with over 100 Pff'ers and those are the only 2 that gave me any hastle, which isnt bad at all because i DID end up getting my stuff it just took a little longer than i had wished most fiero people are great, , i have had people go out of their way to send me stuff free of charge out of the kindness of their hart, and ive also had people send me stuff on my word that i'd send payment right away, Darrel Morse told me once that " if you cant trust a person with a Fiero,... who can you trust?", i think it is pretty much true too !!!

In hundreds of dealings with people on Pennock's I have only been shafted once....on a A/C compressor for $45. I can't say that the guy was a crook because It could have just been lost crossing the Canadian border but he was unwilling to help resolve the problem. Stuff happens.
Everyone else I've dealt with here has been honest and willing to help. I've even had a few of you go to extremes to make things right or better than right. Kudos to Pennock's Fiero forum members.

Just like jeffndbrus said, the Master freely helps with info. He's helped to direct me on the right project for my car and has volunteered to help me find the parts. He has a couple of great conversions going on, and the work appears first class. At this point and time I couldn't say enough good things about the man, his work, and how he is willing to help.
