I had a bad experence with them getting china parts in a moog box
Thanks for mentioning RockAuto in the Forum. Any parts in a Moog box from RockAuto.com were put there by Moog. Moog (Federal Mogul) is a trusted manufacturer of steering and suspension parts for vehicle applications worldwide. In addition to Moog, RockAuto is a retailer of other Federal Mogul brands including Anco (wipers), Champion (plugs), Fel-Pro (gaskets), Precision (u-joints, CV boots) , Sealed Power (engine parts) and Wagner (brakes, bulbs). Please contact service@rockauto.com with any questions about a particular parts order. Thanks, Tom Taylor (tom@rockauto.com)

I've had good luck with Rock Auto for parts. They had sane prices on AcDelco Coil packs for my truck and even carried the oil filters for my 83 Yamaha Venture.
Their Clutch master cyl I bought from them was better quality than the junk sold at autozone. It looked brand new and not refurbed.

I've bought my oil pan from RockAuto, it was at my place in no time and looked brand spanking new! It was damn cheap, too, compared to other stores or the prices shops offered.

This forum got me on Rock Auto. They have done great by me. As for Chinese made parts, it is almost impossible to avoid. Even the best name in auto parts have felt the competitive need to start manufacturing in China. What would be helpful is a list of manufacturers and where their parts are made. You could then make an informed decision on parts purchases.

Tom,
You guys have been great to us at the forum. Is there any chance we could get a standing discount with RockAuto similar to what we have with the FieroStore?

Sjmaye,
RockAuto has always put an expiration date on the discount codes we offer repeat customers and clubs. The expiration date helps us keep track of who is using the discounts and gives us another way to stay in contact with customers. Let me know if the the Forum is ever without an unexpired discount code and I will send a new one. I just checked the code Cliff posted and it works fine.
From your earlier posting: "This forum got me on Rock Auto. They have done great by me. As for Chinese made parts, it is almost impossible to avoid. Thanks again for buying parts at RockAuto. You are right that it is almost impossible to always know where parts were manufactured just by looking at the brand. Making an informed decision can be difficult. Very few manufacturers still say that 100% of their parts are made in a particular country. Manufacturers might decide to make some parts where manufacturing costs are low or they might build the parts in the country where the demand for those part numbers is greatest. Sometimes it seems like they just throw a dart at a map of the world. Right now my wife's car has a Fram fuel filter made in Israel and Monroe struts made in Australia. The tires on my wife's car were made in Brazil. The same brand but larger size tires on my car were made in the USA. Linking part numbers to country of origin could get very complex and confusing especially if the manufacturer makes the same part number in more than one country.
I have made a number of purchases from Rock Auto and have always been pleased. Their prices are the best I can find. They ship fast. 100% ok by me.

Although it was PFF that helped me find RockAuto, I am reciprocating with my friends at work. Keep sticking those magnetic business cards in the box with my parts. They find a home quickly.

I see the note on Fiero Store discount. Could anyone provide the detail of that please, Thanks in advance.
The Fiero Store offers a 10% discount to all PFF members. Just call in your order and ask for the discount. It is that easy. Many times it covers the cost of shipping. Handy!

I've used RockAuto twice since finding this thread and I've been impressed both times.
Twice now I've ordered suspension parts one evening and I get an "order shipped" email the next day and the parts arrive the day after that. I suspect some of that is because the warehouse location for parts I've ordered is close to Philadelphia, but in any event, I've been very satisfied.
hey thanks! im new here and never heard of rock auto you just gained another customer... just picked up a BECK/ARNLEY clutch kit and exhaust manifold gasket's for 125!! like Arnold said ....I"LL BE BACK lol thanks again to cliff and tom

Any discount is beneficial but they are offering only 5%. On a $100 order that will save you only part of the shipping.

There is a recent thread that someone started over the last week or so that had a couple of good codes. Don't know where it is but maybe someone will post the link.
