It's my understanding that these were only removed in a recall from V6 cars. If that's true, there should be plenty available on junked 4-bangers. All I know for certain is that both my cars have them. My 86 SE V6, because the recall wasn't done, and my 88 duke has one (I don't know if it's original or not).

I'm not sure if this is true, our 88 base coupe doesn't have the weatherstrip. I think it was removed on both Duke's and V6's. My 86 SE also has one because the recall was never done either. I think there was the option that you could ask the dealer to give you the weatherstrip, and reattach it yourself.
What I do know is that it was pointless to remove them, I think it was in a quest to remove engine heat. All it does is let water hit the hot exhaust manifold and crack it.
