Jordan, Let us know how that goes and how the instructions are. John
I installed it today, and it was pretty easy and the instructions are pretty clear. Took about 30 mins for me to do. It works great, but I'm still calibrating it. The website says it self calibrates, and you can set it to a "zone" but I still disagree with what the mirror tells me lol. I'll give it more time. Also, the self-dimming works great and I really like it

I got it all figured out, thanks though Mike
I held up a real compass and it directed me in the same direction, so thinking it wasn't calibrated properly was all in my head. I must say, now that I've driven my car at night with this mirror, this car doesn't feel as small as it did before. Those big trucks behind me don't bother me anymore

It's hard to go back to a car with the old style flip mirrors once you're used to these self dimming styles. I will put one in every car I have in the future.

I got mine yesterday and I am VERY satisfied...Thanks! I am also a bit "greedy" and just wondering if I could hook up the temp display. I can see the 'F / 'C in the LED display. Anybody know how to do this or what it would take? The instructions look pretty good, but there are 4 pins that I have no info on.

I wondered the same thing. If it was possible to wire up the temp display, I'm not sure how you would switch between the compass and temp readouts. The pinouts on the Gentex harnesses are all the same between models. What is actually wired up depends on the "options" the mirror has. I have seen a few Gentexs with BOTH compass and temp readouts on top of one another- both show together. Im trying to find one for my cadillac- it has the outside temp readout in the dash, and I want to wire a mirror temp readout for the interior.

This is the pinout I have found posted on several sites:
GM / wire harness color / function
PIN 1 / PINK / POWER +12 volts PIN 2 / BK / CHASSIS, GND PIN 3 / LT GRN / BACKUP LIGHTS PIN 4 /GY / TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR PIN 5 / PINK / TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR PIN 6 / DR GRN/WT / TEMP PROBE PIN 7 / BK/WT / TEMP PROBE
I think the first 3 wire functions are consistent with your wiring instructions. Some people say to ground pin 3 if the backup function is not being used. This pinout suggests a 2-wire thermister to signal outside temp, but somewhere I read that the temp function must be enabled by firmware within the mirror..

Just an FYI....go by pinout location....not necessarily COLOR....as the color of wire used between cars varies.
I have never grounded pin 3....and mine work fine.
