Do you have any pictures? And does this actually shorten the throw or just make the lever itself shorter?
If you shorten the shifter you automatically shorten the throw.
I have one of these $20 short shifters and I couldn't imagine driving without it anymore. Highly recommended for a nice quality piece for a great price.

thanks for tracking that down, I couldn't find it.
I'm checking all my PM's now, I'll print up your addresses and put them in boxes with the number of shifters you ordered. I'll start cutting and welding tonight. they should be shipped out tomorrow morning unless I run out of cutting wheels.
as for shortening the throw. yes throw will be shortened a little bit.
however it you're looking for an actual "short shifter" it would require modification to the shifter assembly and the lever.
which I also do. however as I don't have assemblies yo'd need to ship me yours for modification. labor is $20 to have both our lever and assembly modified for a "true short shift" I've played with this and it works, however it's a lot of work. PM me if you'd be really interested, otherwise lets keep this sale going
also, if you send me your shifter I'll do a core refund of $5. or if you send me your shifter to be modified it's $15 total including return Priority Shipping

I just installed on of these boots today http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...me=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT it's pretty short and I think it will look great with the short shifter. I'll take a pic when I get the new shifter installed.

Caught your post in the midst of replacing both shift and select cables along with installing Rodney's 5sp rebuild kit. The recent snow has put the job on hold. Would like to purchase one of your shortened shifters, if still readily available. (Prior to reassembly) PM sent

Thanks for PM - paypal payment sent today.(note included address).......Shipping address also supplied via returned PM
sounds good. I'll email you when I send it out tomorrow (I'll try to get it out first thing, otherwise it will be on its way on Tuesday morning. Thanks!!!
I have one shifter left. the first person to send me payment for it gets it. anyone after that will get a refund.
as I don't have a line on more cores yet, could someone please let me know if they could sell me more. remember I need to make money to offset the cost of cutting wheels, welding wire, my time, and my propane heater.
Thank you everyone for your orders. I hope I can get more soon and continue making them.
I have 3 more shifter cores available (not here yet, but on their way)
the last one I have here has been sold and will ship out tomorrow. any payments sent to me from yesterday-today (2-12-10 to 2-13-10) will be taken care off once I get the other cores I bought.
so figure next week end to have them, or mon/tues of the foloowing week.
Thanks for all the orders. now I know I have to keep this going

I'll post a pic of mine soon. Mine was made for me by gtxbullet as well, though I dealt with him in person. This being due to the fact that he and I are friends in real life too. Lol! I too am very happy with mine as well as my personal choice in shift knob. This man knows his stuff and does nothing but top notch work. Pics soon!

Pics! Pardon the crumbs, the GT is in for a good cleaning once it warms up a little bit.
A good shot of the whole thing. Like my shifter? I do!
1st gear
2nd gear
And a good shot for the perspective of how short it is.
Edit to reduce massive image sizes. Also to add that mine may not be as short as others, but I worked personally with gtxbullet to find a style that I liked best. One of the perks of being 20 minutes away from him! ------------------ "He took my stapler. I could burn this building down."
