I'm banging my head that I really want to part with this after all the work I've done and then paying to have it professionally painted....but I'm too short and the top of the cowl gets in the way of my line of sight I would like to flat out trade this hood for another silver hood in excellent condition. Come to my house and will simply swap! Marc
It's actually funtional too because I use it to cover an "inny" scoop I used to have.
Send me a pm if you're interested. Your hood must be code 16 silver and in excellent condition. Thanks, Marc

This is probably a long shot because I don't believe there's any around these parts with a silver Fiero but I'd like to at least keep this thread on the first page thru the weekend. Thanks, Marc
Edit: I forgot to mention I filled over the "Pontiac" on the drivers side headlight door. We could swap doors if you like the engraved look.

Oh man i want that hood!!!! I don't have a silver one but i've got a couple red ones..and teh black one from my Formula i'm gettin ready to paint...AND i'm a good 5 - 6 hour drive away. Bummer x 2. supper deal for somebody but chances are, if you do find and trade a silver hood it's not going to match 100% and it'll need to be painted anyhow. Good luck to you though, great deal for somebody.

True. I've found out silver is one of the hardest colors to match. I had the hood professionally painted and it doesn't quite match the front facia and fenders. I'll have the entire car painted some shade of red someday but for now I want a stock silver colored hood so it doesn't look extremely odd.

You could always install spacers under your seat to raise your line of sight. It looks like it came out nice, I don't have a hood or I would gladly swap. Good luck

I actually had spacers for about 2 years and finally removed them a while back. I found that by raising the seat I could no longer move it as far back as before and I couldn't recline it the way I liked with the spacers. The mechanics that have worked on my car from time to time really appreciated them gone too I kept the spacers I made up for the passenger side seat because there's plenty of room under there now for a 2nd amp!

If you were only closer I'd swap you a blue hood and several rattle cans of silver paint plus a hot dog. Thats the hood I want for my SE.

Cape Cod is nice this time of year Knowing that there isn't any local silver Fieros I'll settle for any color and I'll have it painted myself. As long as the hood is in excellent condition and isn't "spray bombed" with crap paint that I'd have sand off. Marc

I just thought I'd mention that Greyhound ships hoods pretty cheap (~ $100 I think) if you have a station near you to take it to & the buyer (or swapper) has one where he can pick it up. I've had very good luck with nothing ever damaged (hoods metal & fiberglass, doors, flared 1/4 panels & fenders for the Z, etc.). However, I'm not sure how they'd treat the paint - I usually just wrap them in cardboard. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

Well, I've got two or three stock hoods, what color would you prefer?
Sorry guys! I traded it back in July for a stock silver that I requested in Woburn, Ma. The cowl is awesome looking but decided after I put it on that it wasn't the look I'm going for. I'm hoping I'll have the spare time this winter to mold in Paul's STM hood vent https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...4/HTML/054820-5.html http://angelonearth.net/cus...iberglass/hoods.html Thanks for inquiring and Happy Thanksgiving! Thats so funny you are talking about the STM vent. I'm stuck going back & forth b/w the two. I love the stm extractor style, but hate that the inset part can only go aobut 1/2 up the hood. I like it the way the original version was with the cobra scoops that went almost the whole way up the hood. Paul said that the original cobra scoop version puts you into the spare tire well... I started to wonder if one could go with jimmys cowl and put the cobra scoops into it... the extra height might give the boost needed to avoid the spare tire well... then I would ahe an extrator/cowl... LOL!
Just not sure how it would come out looking lots of money to chance
