Like the subject says, I have an 88 WCF 3800 mount bracket that I would like to trade for a pre-88 bracket, as I'm using an 85 cradle but the engine was on an 88 originally. Thanks.
If u are talking about the poly engine mount then you might ad well use the one you have. Ad most the time you have to re drill the mounting holes even if you use the correct year.
This engine sat on an 88 cradle before I bought it and the mounting holes lined up perfectly with the stock 88 rubber mount. Guess what he did, he loosened the two transmission mounts first, and it dropped right in. Pretty simple. And there was no abnormal tension on any of the mounts.

The holes might line up when just sat on the cradle.....BUT.....more that likely the motor/trans will not be straight on the cradle when installed....but then again maybe I have been doing it all wrong...
It was installed in the car and squared up. looked great in there. Maybe I just got the right set for a change. At first before i wiggled and lossend things it looked like i was gonna redrill it. Little wiggle there little wiggle here and bam lined up great.
BUMP. I need the 85-87 bracket. The 88 bracket will not work. I drilled a hole in the 88 bracket, and it is marked up, but it's still solid. I want to trade, or at least sell mine and get a earlier year one, this bracket has really messed me up with mounting. It is way too low, and put the engine way too far over on the driver's side. And because I know there will be some people debating it with me, no I can't drill new holes in it to make it work.
