i have an 87 sport, sat for 5 years before i got it. the stock tank had so much nastyness and rust in it i could not save it. i pulled the tank out of the 84 or 85 and it was not as bad but still kinda rusty. it does not fit snug and the bottom keeps denting in. i cant even pull out of my garage with out the car choking and not starting up again. i am about to start another job this weekend but cant make it untill my car is fixed yet again. really not sure if the gas tank and lines are gonna fix this but its all i can think of at the moment. i live in the bay area and my number is 813 650 6295.

Different size tank? Not sure but so I have been told. Also maybe different stlye pump set up? Recently bought a tank for a 87 and almost bought one from a local 86 when at last moment found out about the differences. Dunno what mods are required to interchange the two. Just a heads up.

The outer size of the tanks are almost the same, its just that the '88 has a little bit larger capacity. You can use any year tank in any year fiero FYI

^ it does have a larger capacity, however im fairly certain it requires some mods to interchange the 2 tanks
