How does your aux jack work?

I took my GM radio out, just after I bought my Fiero 4 years ago.
Put in a cheap aftermarket CD deck. I thought it had rear RCA inputs, but it did not.
Idea being I have satellite radio, and wanted the input wires hidden.

The new unit has USB front panel input, and it has an SD memory card slot on the front. This is a real plus.
Kind of like having a huge hard drive full of MP3's on tap.
Or I can plug in a flash drive, and play MP3's that way.

Do you have to unplug the Aux input to get the AM/FM to work?
If I get the rear aux input, do I lose the tuner function?

When you plug a mp3 player into the radio it cuts out the radio signal and plays the mp3's
