In the beggining of November i'll be pullining out my 4cyl Iron Duke with auto trans. Anyone one around NJ 08837 need one? Whats the going rate for these things??
Opps! 1987 Duke.
Just trying to figure out what i'm gonna do with the engine once it's out.
What they are worth depends on whether or not you have a sucker buyer close to you...they generally aren't worth shipping. If someone local needs one, you might pull a couple hundred out of it. If not, you will have to practically give it away in order to get rid of it. Last one I bought was local, known history with 63k miles on it, and the guy wanted $50 for it. I picked it up even though I didn't need it at the time. A couple years later, it found it's way into the convertible. Had he been asking $200 for it...it probably would have been sitting in his garage for those couple years instead of mine.
Now, I would like to find another deal like that and build an autocross car out of it with a performance 4 speed. But...like most Fiero owners, I am a cheap bastard...and your distance means it wouldn't be a good deal for me even if you gave it away for free.

you selling it complete? front dress and all..? I'm looking for one.. to rebuild.. and work a few hotroding tricks into.. porting, grinding down the parting line on the rods, a main girdle and maybe a mopar 2.2 turbo.. and msII ecu..
not rich.. low budget.. what you looking for.. I can get a full dress 2.5 fwd engine here for 125.00 running but wrong waterpump casting , the only fiero duke they had is long gone..
The 87-88 dukes might pull a higher price than the pre 87's but not by much. unless you find someone who really needs a duke and cant afford an engine swap than you might be able to pull a couple hundred.. other than that you got your self a nice anchor to a fishing boat..
I'm waiting on mine to come out of my IMSA.. It's only got 60K on it.. hoping it sells for a little bit..
