Came across a 88 Formula in a u-pull yard, decided to get the headlight system just to have for when mine quit working on my 86 GT. Harness had never been messed with, removed it and the motors and actuating rods. Never seen where it ever had the control module, wasn't in the inter fender wasn't nowhere, harness hasn't been cut nowhere. Went ahead and got it anyway, only 15 dollars. My question is has anybody seen one without the control module? [This message has been edited by DirtyDawg (edited 05-03-2020).]

Only when it's already been snatched. By the way, it's best not to post an image in the middle of a sentence.

if it had been snatched there would have to be wires that went to it or signs of cut wires, there is neither. No holes in the inner fender where they are usually mounted.

Click on EDIT on your first post and you''l see why... and then you'd also have the opportunity to fix it. | quote | Originally posted by DirtyDawg:

Maybe a 1st generation system was swapped into this '88... although that would be mighty strange. Any chance that each headlight motor assembly has a relay mounted on it?

Please go back and grab the brake calipers....they are almost impossible to find anywhere- we need to save any before they are crushed! And there should be a pair of connectors that were located in the fender apron for the control module......The control modules are also hard to find so someone might have grabbed it. There are no relays at the motors. I have a 86 GT and the harness is totally different. | quote | And there should be a pair of connectors that were located in the fender apron for the control module......The control modules are also hard to find so someone might have grabbed it. |

If you look close at the pic there was no module in the fender. When I removed the harness there was only side marker light and one horn to unplug and there where no wires cut from harness. I can take a pic of harness to show it hasn't been messed with [This message has been edited by DirtyDawg (edited 05-03-2020).]

Ok- So you are saying that the harness is different from your 86 harness- but that is has no connectors for the module in the fenderwell....That means you have a very odd Fiero- there were only two HL systems; The early one which was from 84 to 86, and the later better system that was in 87s and 88s.
Are there at least mounting holes for the module in the Formula's fender well?

get that back left caliper out of there while you have a chance! ------------------ "I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. if they cut out the two module plugs, likely someone hack the system and ran motors w/o it. Not a good plan but some do that anyway. In theory you could bypass the isolation relay on the Gen 1 system and make the system work, but I can see a way to make the headlight motors work without the control module on the Gen 2 system. If the Op posts pictures of the harness and the connectors are there then someone took the module. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I'd like to see the picture. I removed the front harness today from my '87 parts car. Here's a picture of where the module was mounted. I don't think the OP was looking in the right spot. [EDIT] New info added below... | quote | Originally posted by DirtyDawg:

I think I've solved the mystery. I re-processed the OP's photo... and lookie what we can now more clearly see... the two mounting holes for the module! Pretty sure (like 100%) that the OP's harness has been clipped. [This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 05-08-2020).]
