Does anyone here have a swap kit for the Olds Quad 4/getrag 5spd? I'm looking to buy a 1988 fiero soon with a IRON PUKE engine/Muncie getrag. I can get someone to convert the wiring for me.
Roger, Right now the Quad 4 engine is cheaper to deal with than the Ecotec. I have built a couple of Quad 4 nitrous versions of the W41. Yes I noticed that GM performance parts is selling the turbo 2.0L ecotec (which is in my ATS) , and I can retain power steering with the Quad 4. I'm not sure you can bolt onto the newer blocks hydralic power steering pumps onto the the newer ecotecs.
For a wile I ran a quad in my 84. I loved the way the cam covers polished up.The quad was hands down a better performer then the iron duke. And yes the ecotek has a port on the end of cam shaft for a bolt on power steering pump. One big plus is that the quad injection system is a batch fire and can be powered by the std fiero ecm.Keep the wheels turning.R.T.
I may have to go to an Ecotec, if I can't find someone to mod out the subframe. So I am keeping that in mind. I do have a book on how to modify the Ecotec, which doesn't include the current LNF turbo engines. So what are you charging the ecotec mounts. I tried to pull up you website, but it wasn't there.
