Over the last two days, PFF will occasionally redirect to 'track.securevoluum. com'. The redirect results in a “problem loading page” error.
I did some searching and found that it has happened on a couple of other forums this week. Apparently that domain was registered on 12/14/2014 to Whois Privacy Protection Service, Inc. in Kirkland, WA. I also found some indication that it might have something to do with Google ads.
It does not happen on any other web site I go to, so I hope it is not my problem, but just in case, I am running Iceweasel 24.0 on Debian. I have not tried it on another machine because it happens so infrequently that it's absence would not be conclusive.

Sounds like a google problem with one or more of their ads. When you have a problem such as this at PFF, the first thing you need to do is send Cliff a PM---he often has no way of knowing something like this is happening if he isn't notified, especially if it isn't forum wide..

Or recently loaded "programs", apps, or other "stuff" into your computer. Over the holidays my home PC was community and somebody did something causing me redirects, pop ups, and other annoyances. I had to search it out and uninstall it.

I didn't want to bother cliff until I was sure it wasn't my problem and since no one else has experienced the issue, it is probably mine. I intend to re-do this machine in the next week or so, anyway. Thanks for your reply.
three times when I opened this thread, it redirected and when I hit the back button it came back to pennocks and instantly redirected again to some page about "ellen" and had no back button at that point.
below is what I copied out of the address bar once it redirected.
I was having a similar problem and went into add/remove programs and looked for the offending programs name, hey I click on a lot of weird crap from links MEM posts and sometimes click on things on those links and I think I got mine there, WTFK. Maybe it was the P0RN I was watching a few nights before.
But anyway look threw your add/remove programs and see if there is anything out of the ordinary that is not something you know to be on your computer.
I for get the thread I started but I had to have Synthesis get rid of my problem via team viewer. But then like I tell everyone on here,
"I am a computer idiot!"
Not proud of it, but I am what I am.

------------------ Technology is great when it works, and one big pain in the ass when it doesn't
Try FF w/ NoScript extension. Turn off all scripts and accept only pff script.
Why? Many problems w/ ads putout by big companies, including Google, Doubleclick, and other ad farms. The script are there to track you, are just bad, or worse many times have malware problems.
Is a pain using NoScript because many sites needs some 3rd party scripts to view... Example CNN.com often needs Turner.com and others to view CNN video stories. Problem is CNN has 10-18 3rd party scripts on each page and find the few you need does take time.
