I have an 88 GT that has some really old Eagle GAs on them, they are dry rot on side walls and hard on the tread. I looked for new tires but the size just isnt supported any longer past a couple of "all seasons" and trailer tires. I am wondering if anyone has found a nice wheel that looks like a stock GT lace but is larger to give more options for a more performance tire. I really like the stock look and want to stay in that style. I wouldnt even change the wheel if there were better tire options. ------------------

I always run an H rated tire on a Fiero with 14 or 15 inch wheels.
The handling is better than S or T rated due to stiffer sidewall construction.

Agreed. I was referring to whether or not he wanted V or Z rated Tires. He won't find much in 15" if that is his goal.
Still, H rated are good for up to 130MPH, faster than a stock Fiero's top speed.

Will,
What all is involved with "stepping up" to a 115x5? Do you have a mod list that is needed to get this to work on an '88? or is there an adapter plate situation that needs to be employed?
Thank you all for the tire suggestions as well. I am looking for best traction possible to take the Fiero out on track days. I am planning a lot with this car  I found lots of threads on tires that fit 15's that discuss the best you can still get. I was looking for wheel options that go 1 or 2 sizes larger and keep the lace that will not wreck the offset to fit best for track day tires. I jumped in on the Fiero before I figured out if it can do what I want. So now I am figuring out how to make it do what I want.
I would prefer to keep original bolt pattern so I can have a set of wheels that are good all seasons on stock rims for normal driving and a set of wheels to put on for track day fun. Track tires are too costly and soft compound to leave on for putting around town on. Plus this opens the conversation for other looking for most current information. Although I am not sure that even getting to a 16 or 17 will open up for good track day tires I will need to look into that a bit more.

I am using VOXX Monza 16 x 7s...really good looking Lace wheel- sadly, not made anymore, but you may find some by searching Ebay, etc...
They are very light (13 lbs) which really made the car handle/feel better. Tire sizes are common with a number of popular cars so a lot of options for different tires; 205/55-16 and 225/55-16...I am using General G-MAX all season high performance tires- they are also lighter than a number of other tires.

You can do what I'm thinking of doing and just have a separate set of wheels with track tires on them. This way you save your standard all seasons from the abuse and have better track times.
