Autocross coaching (Page 2/2)

And now for an example of what not to do on an autocross track.

From the archives... A friend of mine driving his '86 Fiero GT back in September of 2010. I forget what I used for the slow motion, but I'm quite intrigued with what it did to the ambient audio. No additional sounds were added. Very weird!

Good luck and I'll be in contact!

Yes! I heard quite a bit about you as well. I wish I would of signed up both days as it would of been great to meet in person, looking forward to the next event! You gave me a ton of great tips and helped me discredit some assumptions. I imagined that a competitively built Fiero would be a stretch as you mentioned but I agree its fun as can be and that's what Ill be enjoying the most.

I'm glad you appreciate my sense of humor. Not everyone here does.

Yes, that's the advantage of reaching out through a public forum, as opposed to just through an individual email.

It would be great if you could post what you just stated back at the original thread. It's always beneficial to have the resolution to a problem mentioned when people come across the thread in future searches/readings of forum topics.

I've had my 3800sc at a few autocrosses and plan on doing as many as I can this year. I will say the engine swap will put you in SSM class which in my area doesn't have a lot of other cars but one is a twin turbo 370Z so I don't have much of a chance but really just having fun and racing against myself and working on improving my driving and the car instead of trying to win. I have struggled a lot with understeer but also have very crappy tires and will probably get some better but not to sticky 300 treadwear tires to learn on.

I appreciate all the good info on this thread and love seeing other people auto crossing Fieros and not just the usual Miatas/Vettes/Focuses that make up most of the other cars I see at events. I would definitely enjoy reading any updates as you learn and modify the car as it could help me too.
