Current list of those who do swaps? (Page 2/2)

That’s generally ok because there are no emissions.

What the issue with the swap really is is being emissions compliant. Because most swaps are from a car that wasn’t ever meant to talk bcm to ecm with the new engine, the custom programming ignores or cannot fully deal with the catalyst checks etc. this is an oversimplification obviously but the root of the issue.

electrification doesn’t have that problem because there are no emissions systems being skirted. Once you get it inspected and verified as an ev, your days of visiting a smog check are over.

If I could swap in an electric powertrain directly from a Tesla, I would do it in a heartbeat. But I've never seen an electric conversion on a Fiero that had tons of power and a good battery life.

There is one on eBay right now but it only has a 16kw battery pack. But it has a Tesla high performance rear motor.
They don’t seem to have done anything in the front though so my gut tells me you should be able to double the battery capacity by putting a pack in the front.

I'm Not Buying the 'Battery' Idea for Many Reasons:
Scarcity of Raw Materials (lithium/cobalt/graphite)
Production (China)
Long Charging Times (Fast is BAD)
Degradation and Useful Life (~8-10 Years)
Steep Price Tags (Replace Costs)
Recycling (Disposal)

EVs still offer limited range; comes with higher insurance and higher repair costs too.

Hydrogen vehicles are more promising; however, their time appears to still be in the future......

Adding the EV's 'catch fire' to the Fieros 'catch fire' could be a cause for concern

Agree with all points and might add that to make Lithium Ion batteries you need to mine minerals as stated above. The greenies don't like mines as mines have an adverse environmental impact. So much for the so called non polluting electric vehicles. It all a hoax.
