Every one I've come across always in my many junkyard adventures seems to be in perfect appearance (no cracking or dry rotting) and I wouldn't have a problem using as an emergency tire. Just grab one from the junkyard. Since these are for emergencies only and only going to be driven at like 40 mph for like 5 miles, not too much concern of the tire blowing out due to age.

After searching far and wide it seems as though Fiero spare tires are no longer available anywhere. Today there are mobile tire shops and services in many areas. They will come to your location in a huge fully equipped van, fix your flat or even replace your tire with a new one.
Wayne Renninger in Allentown, PA who stocks the larger Fiero body parts may have an unused (although old) spare tire in his inventory.

There are "temporary" tires that they sell on Tire-Rack... I think there were two when I looked, but they're over $120 bucks. I'd originally purchased one from the Ford dealership (as you guys saw above, but was refunded), but ultimately I decided to just fill the tire up again, clean up the rim, and install Rodney's spare tire cover over it. I'd still like to fix that at some point... but the total cost I've spent on this Fiero would absolutely shock you guys. I'd be laughed off this forum, and ridiculed for life. But for me, I view this as an Associate of Arts Degree in Daddy's Backyard Automotive Engineering. So she gets something out of it, even if my degree program isn't accredited by anyone except my neighbors.
I'm going to go back and fix it, but only after everything else is done. We're so behind on the videos, but the priority is to finish the car. I've had my daughter read through Katheryn's thread here on Pennocks, and she doesn't want her story to end like that. So the focus is on finishing the car first, and the videos second. The engine is in the car, interior is done, trunk area is done, the whole rear suspension is totally redone (like as if the car was brand new), and we're now re-doing the entire front-end compartment. The "frunk" is totally restored, with all new components, the whole nose was taken off, and the front fenders removed... cleaned, sanded, and repainted the whole front end, headlight buckets removed, cowl restored... I'll share a quick image of where we are currently...
I know she wouldn't be too happy if I was sharing this, but she's very meticulous on these things. Even the bolts that hold down the fender, she sanded them down and painted them to make sure they looked new.
Once we put everything back (which has a new radiator and a new A/C condenser), the only thing left for her to do is the steering rack and the front suspension. Literally everything else is done.

My Goodyear dealer has done work on a few Fiero spares for me. They didn't tell me there was any problem.

Unfortunately, she didn't get around to finishing her car. She did a lot of work on it over the 4 years she worked on it, but eventually sold it. I just went to the link, the Facebook link no longer works, but the car was in a non-running state when she sold it. But she had done a lot to it either way. Kind of a shame... but I used it as motivation for my daughter.
My daughter has been at it for 2 years exactly (to the month). She got it when she was 14 (had just turned 14 really). So she's doing well. I'd say we're like 75% done. Two more weekends, and the car will be running and driving again. All that will be left is a complete re-do of the front suspension, and then rebuild the doors (seals, etc. in the doors). And then maybe a couple of small trouble-shooting things, and the car is totally done.
Her videos are totally behind of course... in her last video we just got the engine back in. But we were driving it around like 6 months ago.

2 years? Wow! It doesn't feel like that long (I also got my Fiero about 2 years ago (April 16th) been following along with this from the beginning, and it hasn't felt like 2 years, through your videos or my Fiero experiences, wow, that's crazy, I'm feeling old, and I'm only 19 haha, wow.

I know man, it's crazy. Time flies so fast. I turn 47 in a little over a week, and I first joined Pennock's Fiero Forum when I was basically your age, haha. If you search up some of my earliest posts... Good Lord...
