the Ogre (Page 6/6)

I don't get it. I'm one of the '99ers and can remember when the Ogre was a relatively happy and extremely helpful guy. Maybe the stroke changed him? Maybe there's another "life issue" that did it? Kinda breaks my heart to see Ogre go from the way he was "back in the day" to his latest rant.

Ogre--If you're reading this, please consider reaching out to someone for some help. Or reach out to someone on the forum to explain the HUGE change.

I wish you the best, sir.

Strokes can do total personality changes.

My father had a major one. Some days were great but if his numbers got off on some meds he would get mean as hell.

My buddy’s father stroked. In his case he was a smoking, drinking, wife hating pessimistic man. He was miserable to be around.
After the stroke he and his wife were never so happy, gave up smoking, drinking and just flat enjoyed life. He was funny and a blast to be around.

These things affect people differently.

In this case this was a difficult person that I feel is facing more issues than we know.

While I never liked him I would at this point just let this go. If he wants to be here great if not that is his choice. We know he is not rotting in a chair some place so that is good enough.

Harsh words here do no one any good.

I would just lock this thread and move on.

Getting old is a ***** and not easy for most. I have seen it a number of times when I worked in the medical field.

Just see how someone with a UTI gets. They go bat **** crazy as their system gets poisoned. I have seen the nicest old ladies go off cussing and making rude rants that you never could believe possible.

I've never told this, but I am a stroke victim too. Did it affect me? You bet it did. As what it does for your personality, it brings out the worst in people. But what isn't there, can't come out. In my case, the worst was that I lost my patience with people who think they are better than anyone else and are just plain mean and derogatory towards others.

But I'll close this thread since it no longer serves its purpose. It started with love and genuine concern. Turned out that was totally unwarranted.
