Does anyone still build or care about 308 body kits? (Page 1/11)

A long...long time ago there was a company near me that used to "retrofit" perfectly good Fieros into 308 and 328 Ferrari kits. They have long ago closed.

I recently went by and decided to go snooping to see if there were any parts left. Sure enough, there is a semi trailer with a lot of old fiberglass parts still lurking around. Hoods, headlight covers, grills, a complete quarter panel for a 328, and tons of other similar stuff

The parts are not mint- they have been sitting in a semi trailer, exposed to the elements for many years, but you can probably get them for free or close to free.

If you are interested in looking like Magnum PI and pretend you drive a Ferrari.. PM me and I can give you the location.

Is there a couple complete or near complete kits? or just parts....

I might be interested if it was close to complete, or there is a complete front end (fenders, hood, bumper, headlight covers)

If you have access to grab some pictures and sort through it, I'd prefer to purchase this stuff off you and possibly come get it. I don't really want to travel that far without a contact that I can trust and has the parts in their possession. I'm also only interested in the 328 parts, not the 308.

Thanks, Shoot me a PM if you want to talk more.

Cheers,
Chase.

Do you know which kit they are based on? Are they Mera clones or Stinger clones? If you don't know the difference yourself, then like Custom2M4 implied, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

I doubt that there are any complete kits. It is literally a gigantic pile of crap inside a trailer, but lots of hoods, headlight doors, trunks, etc.

Blooze, for you, I am willing to climb back into the pile of crap and look around... I will try to get some pics soon

Hoods you say.... Please take a picture of one of those too.

is this stuff abandoned or is it someone property and they are letting you go thru it?

any stock parts?

Not sure if it is relevant or not but our own EVMrob here has built some rather impressive Ferrari 308 kits and has the ability to make more. I personally saw the one he recently sold and it looked very nice. He also mentioned that he took molds off the car so he can recreate it. I dunno what he charges for a complete kit but it would be worth the call or PM to find out. The car certainly looked very nice and he also made ALL of the badging, emblems, and even the tail lights and marker lights himself. Pretty damn taleted fellow if I do say so.... Peace

Pete

Thanks cam-a-lot. If you could take a picture of a hood, that would be all that's needed to tell if it's a Mera or Stinger based kit.

With that location, the parts are almost 100% likely to be from Canadian Sportscars, owned by George Fejer. As I recall, that was the city he was located in. He made excellent fiberglass (although his mounting brackets left a lot to be desired). It, like most of the 308/328 clones from back in the day, was based on the Mera. Jim Sutter from IRM bought a lot of kits from him, and added a much-needed bracket kit when he resold them or installed them in-house. In addition to the 308/328s, Fejer made a very limited number of convertible 308 kits (which is something that even Ferrari never did). You might want to dig deep into that trailer -- there may be a hidden nugget of gold!
