Does anyone know of any Fiero clubs in the St. Louis area? If not, where would the closest one be?

I live in Greenville, Il. The Fiero club in St. Louis as far as I know is not active. I wished we did have a club in the St. Louis area. I joined the Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts (NIFE) out of St. Charles, Il. The club's web sight is Fierofocus. com. A very active club. They have a good publication every other month and a great show every year. It's hard to make the meetings but I am kept up about all the activities in the Mid West and at least I am I'm in a club. If we could get enough people together to start a club or get the St. Louis club active again, that would be great. I know there is several of us around.

I am in <<<< and would be interested. I travel usually the week days but weekends are possible. I saw a white fiero last night in Edwardsville so maybe there are 2 of you there.

St. Louis or East St. Louis?

I am in the Metro East, not E. St. Louis. I would not take my car there. Aside from the obvious reasons, the roads are horrible.

There was (and technically is still) a St.Louis club, but basically it has turned in to a "dinner once a month" group. When I started with the group back in 2000, there were about 10 to 15 active members and at that point it was on the decline. We had a core group of about 10 for much of the 2000's but it has decreased since then to about 4 or 5. We quit having the annual show in the spring due to lack of attendance. In the past we would regularly draw 40 to 50 cars and it was held at the Museum of Transportation. "Club" meetings I believe are still being held at Chevy's near Zumbehl and I-70 in St. Charles.

Again, not very active right now because lack of participation in planned events. That could all change with a new influx of people. Personally, it would be better for me if meetings were held on the east side of the river. Back in the day (early 90's) Jack Ditter started the club and because the core group and heavy interest was in the St. Charles area, that is where the meetings were held.

The KC Fiero Group and the Gateway Fiero's (St. Louis) group have a long and good history (for what it is worth) and officially they (we) are apart of the MFC. The core group was really never an "on-line" group like PFF. More like the old-school group. Many members purchased their Fieros new or at least in the 80's.

I think there is a possibility of starting another group or rekindling the old one with new members and with members being willing to participate. The real key is participation in both events and tasks supporting events. I can contact the old members if we want to try to get something going again.

Personally one of my issues is time. I only have 30 to 90 minutes at home each day and sometimes this is true for both weekend days. I really do like the idea of getting a club going again, but may not be able to offer much as far as physical help... just contact help for a while.

I am on the east side of the river and would be more than up for a few meet, greet, and eat gatherings. I can host over at Scott AFB under the airplanes on sticks and then we could cruise to a local restaurant. Even better, we could do it on a day of a car show at Dr Jazz'z soda fountain or over iin Collinsville where they have a big show at the local Sonic.

Looks like there is several of us wanting to either start a club or reigniting the Gateway club. Also looks like we all are from Illinois (so far). Perhaps we could find some more interested people. Let's not let this drop. It would be nice to get together with other Fiero enthusisates
