For those unfamiliar, Rocket League is a wildly popular cross-platform video game in which one plays football (soccer) with rocket-powered cars. As a tie-in with the new Fast & Furious movie, a ridiculous Fiero with heat shield paneling and an enormous spaceship engine thing strapped to it (which someone pointed out in the film's trailer in another thread) is now available for the game.

I saw some gameplay footage and cringed at the animated flame-spewing exhaust pipes sticking out from underneath the headlamp motors.

It occurs to me that a generation of young car enthusiasts who never would have known what a Fiero was are going to start recognizing our cars because of this silly movie...

Yeah, instead of those things catch fire don't they, it'll be "ever strap a rocket to it?" etc.. lol

Dumb fool; "Oh yeah! That's one of those Fee-er-Os......The first FLYING car!"

Fiero owner; "No, no! It doesn't fly"

Dumb fool; "Why? You didn't keep it up and well maintained?"

Fiero owner; "Wait- It never flew-"

Dumb fool; "Oh so yours was defective from the factory...Typical GM"

Fiero owner; "But it wasn't meant to fly..."

Dumb fool; "Oh, so you believe that "Man was never meant to fly"...Because God would have 'given him wings' "

Fiero owner; "What is happening....."

Dumb fool; "Closed minded fools who buy a special car and then ruin it....."

Just saw the film and have to say that the rocket-powered Fiero played a very important role in the film ... it kinda made me proud to own one. It would be difficult to overstate how extremely 'over-the-top' the entire film was, Fiero spacecraft aside. Not having seen the previous 8 films I didn't appreciate that the heroes must have by default bullet-proofed their various rides (cars, vans, motorcycles), because none of them seemed to suffer the least consequence from sustained machine gun fire from mere tens-of-feet away (just to name on example.) Spoiler --- I thought the scene where the Fiero caught fire was in poor taste. Also, I was surprised at the extreme speeds it was traveling that the Headlight Doors didn't pop up. Clearly, no Fiero Experts were consulted in the making of this interesting film

Also saw the movie today, and was pleasantly surprised by how much screen time the car got, and how they kept referring to the car by name.

This car wouldn't be possible without that side air scoop!
