I have a 88 Gt with a 5 sp. I'm getting a code 24 (vss).When driving in 5th gear the car idles at 1800 rpm and seams like the cruise control is on when it's not.
It will eventually come back to 1000 rpm when I stop. I have changed out the ECM and the speed sensor on the transmission with known good ones but, it didn't make any difference. I checked the continuity between the speed sensor connection and the connector underneath the dashboard and it appears ok. I'm thinking that it might be the speedometer circuit board. Any ideas? Paul
