In New Mexico a few miles outside Silver City.

Yeah, it's spelled with two Rs, but close enough.

A few years ago I bought a collection of FOCOA magazines and one of them was addressed to Jessie Fiero. How cool is that?

That is cool- tried to look it up on Google and found..."Fierro Ave in Matawan, NJ....So they are.....Multiplying!

When I finally found "Fierro road, Hanover, NM" I noticed that Google street-view shows the name as "Fiero".

And having a Fiero America mag addressed to "Miss Fiero" is really amazing....

Can I get an honorable mention here?

My daught-in-law's maiden name was Fierro.

There's also another half-dozen or so Fiero Roads (or Streets, Drives, etc) in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, NY, etc but not all of them are easy to get a clear shot of on Street View. So search for them at your own risk I guess.

That road leads to a ghost town called Fierro. There was quite a discussion about it here several years ago, mostly as consideration for a gathering, but it never took place, afaik.

We drove up and looked at the ghost town/mine and there’s not much left.

For the record, I deliberately arranged our vacation itinerary so my wife and I could check this out. I knew the old mine was called Fierro but was hoping Google maps was accurate and the road sign had only one R. Too bad.

Fierro Road, New Mexico, is just down the road from the viewing area for the Santa Rita mine, one of the largest open pit copper mines in the world. Definitely worth seeing.
