I'm new to the forum and find the information very helpful but I'm not so savvy with actually using the forum. How can I delete one of my posts? (accidentally posted this in the wrong place a few minutes ago) Also, what does this little icon/button do?

Where are you seeing that thing? My screen doesn't seem to have it.

It's in the upper right corner of every post I see. I can't tell what it's doing when I click on it.

The icon generates a link to that specific post; helpful if you're referring someone to a reply in a really long thread.

You ask Cliff to delete the thread for you. You cannot delete your own threads once created.

Yes... "Chain button" puts that post in the address bar at top of browser. Many have address bar hidden or length set too short to see.
So this whole tread is: h--ps://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/099860.html
Second reply is: h--ps://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/099860.html#p2 (Edit so PFF doesn'y auto format "links" above.)
Any addy/link w/ #____ added need a Target to work. Targets are hidden most times and buried in the HTML for a page. Wikipedia "Page Index" near top of every page uses same thing to allow you move down correctly w/o looking.
