Headlight module p/n question (Page 1/1)

I have a question about 87-88 headlight modules. Do all factory GM modules have a p/n stamped into it? I took one off of an 87 coupe and it has no GM p/n on it. It does have the usual “GUIDE” stamped on it but that’s it. Does this mean it’s an aftermarket module?

I have 3 in the garage and all just have GUIDE cast into them.
One has a decal that reads
Replace Do Not Repair
Made In USA
8203

I removed each of these from vehicles at Pull A Part except one which came from a wrecked 87GT barn find.

If the module has the exact connectors that match your original it is most likely the correct headlight module. OEM or reproduction they work the same so there should be no worries.

No. other modules have same plugs etc but wired different in other cars.

Note: GUIDE Lamp was a GM Parts Division for lighting sim to Harrison AC that was part of spinoff to Delphi in 90's.
Your Fiero and other old GM Taillights and other light fixtures have GUIDE as maker not GM.
See my Cave, Lighbulbs at bottom.

Rarely now you still see GUIDE HL Bulbs on GM vehicles too...
From an 86 Fiero, not sure if is OE or not. (Is Not a Halogen Unit listed in most "books" for Fiero. is 6053 or 6052 tungsten bulb)

I'm pretty sure the module from a 88-96 C4 Corvette will work. They can still be had for around $130-$150.

You can try to repair the old module. Google search C4 Headlight Control Module repair for instructions.
