Hi All ! My 85 V6 is due for a rebuild. I’ve read everything I could find in the archives about the crane or comp cams “260” cam. Everything I’ve read says it’s better over the 252. My question is…. Will it work with the existing ECM with out having to get a chip programmed?

The technical question section would probably be a better place to ask this. But to answer your question, I would think that it would work fine, but to get the most out of it you would wanna rechip for it. Personally I wouldnt worry about retuning it tho.

I did all sorts of stupid stuff to a 3.4 that was swapped in, in place of a 2.8. It still ran decently on the stock 2.8 chip. So yeah... You should be good.
