Shipping a Fiero (Page 1/2)
Chris_narf JAN 17, 12:49 PM
I know there used to be a person on the forum that did vehicle transport, but I think he retired. Is the best option still to go to uship.com and sort through bids? The Fiero will ship from Olathe, KS to Marianna, FL. There's also a truck that'll ship from Minneapolis, MN to the same place in Marianna, FL, but I think that'll be a separate shipment due to the distance between the starting points. Thoughts?

The guy your talking about is pretty much retired. I used Moverjet Logistics to move the Fiero I bought back in April from Texas to North Carolina. Price was pretty reasonable, it was $700.00 plus a $150.00 winch fee since the car did not start.

I've transported a few thousand cars and a bunch of Fieros, some multiple times. Although I still have the equipment to do that and am willing to go some places, there's no way I could do it and dead head empty to the pickup location, transport the car and then deadhead back home for what the commercial guy's charge. I recently transported a Valkyrie Trike from just north of Atlanta, GA to Austin, TX for a personal friend. A similar scenario as described above, my cost was over $1,200 just for my expenses. So yeah, I'm kind of retired but available if it's somewhere I want to travel to and it makes me a little bit of money for my effort.

But, I see you're in Olathe, KS, I'm originally from KS and look forward to getting back there when I can. Where is this Fiero?

That's blackrams. He brought my Indy from Kentucky to Montana where I picked it up - in 2006.

I'm actually in Maple Grove, MN, but I kept some of my "toys" in storage in Olathe, KS when we sold our house and came out to Minnesota. I still have family and friends in Kansas, so we go down there a few times a year. I just accepted a new job in Maryland that should be much more "long term", but it means that I need to clear out the storage unit in Kansas. So... my Fiero will go live with family in Florida and sadly my motorcycles will get sold off.

Where in FL? Just one Fiero? Is it a roller or will it move on it's own power? What kind of bike? I might know someone interested depending on what it is.
Check you PMs, there may be an opportunity for both of us.

Im a shipper/operator on uShip.com but unfortunately im out of Toronto Canada
Have been with them over 10 years
Read reviews carefully and only hire people with good reviews I cant stress this enough
If possible only use enclosed trailer and demand nothing else be placed in there as anything that comes loose will damage your car.

I know these threads don't always get updated, but I was fortunate enough to be able to enlist the services of Blackrams.

Thanks to everyone for their responses!
