Looking for info a specific Fiero from "back in the day" (Page 1/2)

I'm looking for more photos or additional information on this specific Fiero shown, It's a car that has caught my attention and lets face it all the "custom" Fiero's from back in the day are cool and who else wonders what happened to them? Its like you see them once in a old thread or magazine and never see them until its spotted at a salvage yard. Searching for the owners name listed in the magazine shows no leads, not even relatives or people related to the owner have come up. Here's what I know about this car, one source told me it originally had a 2.8 with a miller woods turbo setup and a 5 speed. The sail panels show "GTU" on them in a factory manner and the 3 piece wheels stand out also. It had a slightly modified IMSA style body kit. It is pictured on the cover of the magazine at the Las Vegas Auto Show in 1989 which was featured on Fiero Owner magazine for the 3rd quarter. Any sort of additional info or pictures are appreciated!

(picture 42, although hard to see is the same car)

I feel like there has to be more photos of this car out there, being late 1980's I'd imagine that any photos out there are in other magazines or personal photos from fellow Fiero owners at car shows back in the days of polaroid's. Places of interest for possible info on this car of where it used to be owned and driven include Nevada, Texas, and possibly Indiana. I'm fully aware one of these photos are from another thread somewhere on pennocks, please don't redirect me back there or ask the person who posted the photo of it years ago. Once again any info is appreciated.

You hold about the only thing I have ever seen on this car.

I believe it was from California as the Vegas show was poorly attended mostly by California members.

It the DGP body panels and if I recall the Miller woods on the 2.8 as back then everyone had good engines.

The Wheels I believe are Jagger wheels. Several guys used these early on before the Centerlines were easier to get.

The only street-driven fastback wide body I've ever seen was the dark green one. It also had the Miller Woods turbo, IIRC.

Is it possible that this is an earlier iteration of the same car?

The car is in pieces and it is in Wisconsin and its just the body now..

I don't think they are one and the same - Joe Burke had it green for a long, long time and it didn't have the scoop or high wing.

John, I can't believe what a wealth of knowledge you are. Good stuff

That dark green one is not the same car, I know that for a fact. That dark green one is still seen around here and there (can't remember what state it's in) and I believe the owner of that car is or was getting it wrapped to be a 'nardo gray' from the last thing I heard about that one after the roof got fixed. but I agree there's not many street driven widebodies out there so this red one is kind of cool

I recently bought a yellow IMSA body from Texas. I wish I knew the history on it, but have never seen any pictures of it anywhere.
