New guy here fellas. I've always liked the Fiero but never owned one until recently. An acquaintance called me (since I was the car guy he knows) asking if I know anyone interested in 'this old car my dad has'. After getting some details I decided to pick it up- paid what I feel is fair value for a car that has not run in many years. Very low miles and still smells new inside.
Anyhow- this is where it sat for last 36 years...
Loading... look at those 'plastic' tires.
And home....

Welcome to the hobby. That is a great rare find, in super shape with extremely low mileage. As for the engine, remove the plugs, fog the cylinders with oil, change the fluids, drain and wash the tank (kerosene works well) , flush the fuel injector, gas lines and of course install new tires and a new battery. Garage kept, I'll guess that after these things are done the engine will start right up.

Thanks gents. Yep, garage kept since day 1 in a relatively sealed barn. There was no evidence of critters anywhere- not even spider webs. It has never been wet- rain or even a wash. Apparently it was purchased for the Mrs. and she didn't like it so it got parked. If it wasn't for the rubber that had vulcanized to the concrete I would have questioned their claim.
Hoping to have all the reconditioning done over the next couple weeks. The brake pads will also need to be changed out as they look to have swelled a little.
Lighting is not great on these- taken in the barn. You can see the dust from removing the cover on the battery cover- no worries it all blew off on the ride home. I'll put a few more pics up this weekend.

WOW!!
Thats a first year 84 with the rare vented decklid and solid side covers.
Being that low mileage and parked since almost new, it might not have had the 84 recall done to it yet. You should bring the VIN to a GM dealership and have them look up if it has had the recall work completed or not.
You got a Fiero collectors dream find! Take care of it for us.

Holy smokes! What a find! Very nice. That's a time capsule, if I've ever seen one. Here's the thing... Since it's been parked for so long, there's a chance that it never had ethanol-gas poured into the tank. You might be able to pour a gallon or two of fresh gas into the tank, and get it to start. (I wouldn't put more than that in, in case you still have to drop the tank.)
But yeah... All the stuff that others have mentioned. A dash of oil or ATF in the cylinders. You might need to replace brake hoses or calipers. Or maybe not. Just recognize that the calipers frequently lock up when the car has sat for a long time. Sometimes the caliper pistons swell. (They're phenolic material.) Sometimes the lines will collapse on the inside, and won't let the pressure release.
Congrats! Welcome to our obsession! ------------------ Raydar 88 Formula IMSA Fastback. 4.9, NVG T550 Praise the Lowered!
