Are 88 masters that different? I can’t find them on fierostore rock auto, autozone, oreillys, etc. My master is leaking. Can’t find seals for it either.

May look the same to you but Can Not use 84-87 MC in 88 Car. Working section of the bore is different regardless of look at back end of units.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. Yes, the M/C is different.
The fluid displacement requirements of the caliper pistons and the fluid displacement capacity of the M/C must be matched.

I picked up a Centric from CarID last year after the Fiero Store said they didn't have any cores to rebuild. It's worked well so far and appearance is very close to OEM.

According to Ebay compatibility chart, this does not work on 88 Fiero GT?

Is there any suitable alternatives for an 88 that are safe? The rebuild kit is missing the parts that are deeper down in the MC, and I've searched for months and haven't found any. Even if I had to get other parts to compensate a different MC, I'd be willing at this point. I've read your entire page on brakes on your cave and see where switching out parts in the name of upgrading is not a good idea, but I'm certainly not going to be making any good stops without a working MC.
It doesn't feel like these are ever going to become available again, so I'm sure at some point more 88 owners will be in copperhen's and my position.
I just went back and looked, my order from summit was made on Nov 7, 2021 and the status is still "Shipping From Manufacturer." So yeah, I don't think new/rebuilt ones are going to show up. I am willing to adjust where necessary to accommodate a different MC that is available, just not sure on where to start there.[This message has been edited by SquareBomb (edited 06-07-2022).]

I cleaned and re-used the parts that were not in the rebuild kit. It worked nicely. Try the rebuild kit first
I had a lot of trouble finding an rebuilt or new master from any auto parts store as well

I may have found a raybestos one. I'll believe it when I see it on my doorstep. I found a Centric one in Columbia, but they don't ship outside the country.
I've ordered several at this point going with the shotgun approach. So far most have already refunded me, but hey if I end up with any extra I'll post here.
