is this Indy worth 7,500? (Page 1/2)

Just wonderin'

If I were in the market for an Indy, it would be worth it to me. My only concern is the condition of the drain plugs in the floor and the gas tank support and the gas tank area behind it. For the stated storage and drivinen conditions, they seem to be in pretty poor condition.

Many prefer a manual transmission in a Fiero, but for the 84, the automatic puts less rpm on the engine at highway speeds.

I was wondering if there was some "POR15" stuff going on... that maybe some of those suspension parts are rusted and coated in it...

The price has gone up to $10K. IMO its not worth that, but some greenhorn may come along and buy it, thinking that it is built like a real pace car rather than an 84 with cosmetics only. In the real world this is just a redecorated 84 Fiero .

All the bright black paint and random rust on all the bare metal doesn't add up, like it was repainted ~10 years ago. It also has a test pipe where the catalytic converter should be. Being is Mass. I'd still want to see the trunk corners and frame rails.

I've seen nicer, for less money.

7500, probably, but 10k, no way.

Keep in mind an Indy is an appearance package only. It overs 0.0 performance improvement over a regular 84 SE.

That's true, and an 86 or 87 GT offers nothing in that respect over an 86u or 87 SE with the same options, but they do sell for more.

The lower red strip decals don't match and have been replaced on some panels and not others, hard to tell how much paint work was done if any. And no engine bay picture(s).

It might be worth the money but the pictures leave a lot to be desired, there's considerable wear on the seat cover and armrests for that mileage so I'd have to see it in person, check the rails and the trunk before I could really judge. The decklid has me curious, it's tight on the passenger side and not on the driver side and not properly aligned so there's been some 'work' done to this low mileage Indy, no doubt.

Maybe it's a member here who can provide more pics/info.
