Truly a testament to the platform and the people therein. I have a project where I'm currently creating a custom c/v axle - replacing the shaft with a longer shaft from another platform. I've never done anything needing custom machining and have almost no clue as to where I would go for such work. Do you guys know where I could find a good shop in the Minneapolis area for re-splining and axle shaft? I'd rather not spend $500 on some super duper brand new complete custom one when I'm so close to having built one myself. Wichita SEP 07, 12:11 AM I just had my Fiero CV axles cut and resplined (2 passenger manual axles because of length.) This is for a motor swap I'm doing. It came out perfect. They charged $150 to do both, shipping was something like $40 both ways, so less than $250. Fiero outer is original, the inners were cut and resplined to match the gearbox from the donor motor. I sent a donor axle and CV star from donor with it as well, a requirement to get a the splines right. Also made sure I carefully measured the length like 10-times to make sure. 🙂 Currently they are put together with new boots and grease and good to go. 👍
