Hey all, I’m looking at purchasing my first Pontiac Fiero tomorrow. I’m down under in Australia so these cars are quite rare and the price he has it listed is quite cheap so I’m a bit skeptical. It’s a RHD, blue 1986-87 model with the 6cyl engine and 3Spd auto with 106,000miles. He’s asking for $7000 Aud ($4700 USD). Most in Aus are $20,000Aud+… that being said there are only 2-4 others up for sale.
I know a few things to look out for such as rust in the rear Trunk under the carpet, check coolant tubes and To listen for knocking. But if anyone has any idea on what else I should look for that’d be great to gain that information as this will be a car I’m looking at keeping until I’m Old and grey!
I’m no expert when it comes to these American cars, I do own a few Holdens and a skyline so not sure how much different it’ll be to work on besides part pricing being through the roof!!
So really I’m asking any thoughts you all have let me know, whether you think it’s a bad deal or what Else I should be looking out for. Also would love to know if there’s any other Australian enthusiasts out there! cheers.

Have a look in a few of These threads and you'll find a few Aussie PFF members. Several of them are still active here. One (or more) of them may even be familiar with the Fiero that you're considering.
