DGP IMSA Wheels? (Page 1/1)

I need to start looking for wide wheels for my 88 Northstar now that we put the widebody on. Any recommendations?

A set of those old centerline wheels would be perfect. I've seen them pop up on Facebook occasionally. I think they are 15x10. Kitcar guys run them... Regardless, you need some meats on that Thang!

Awesome build by the way. Really cool car.

Those wheels are really hard to come by, especially the ones fitted for the widebody, and you have to act fast if a set ever does pop up because a bunch of people would love to snag a set. However I do agree, those would be the ideal setup.

Finding wheels to properly fit will definitely be a task, or very expensive. Wheel spacers or adapters would be one route to go, not ideal though. Custom 3 piece is probably the best bet, but very $$$$. 5x100 3 piece wheels are kind of rare on the used market as well, however I would keep an eye out, and keep in mind that if they aren't the proper offset, you can always re-lip/re-barrel them accordingly as long as the bolt pattern is correct.

For the rear, depending on whether you have coilovers, you can run 17x10 easily without coilovers. With a nice coilover set, you can run 19x12 in the rear. Now since this is an 88, I'm not familiar with the front wheel offset versus the width of the wheel. On a non 88, you can run a 17x8 up front.

I had to borrow these from Troyboy. I believe these are the 19x12 I spoke about:

You may ant double check The Perfect Union build thread.

We modified the IMSA wheel well openings to use that big of a wheel tire.
We did it on page 2 of the tread https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...3/HTML/000047-2.html

Ah, thats right. You made the wheel wells higher like the original race version. I forgot he had the street version rear clip.
