As the title states, Im attempting to find my Dad's old Fiero. He had an red 85 GT and I had a gold 86 SE (my first car). The picture below was taken in 2005 and shortly afterwards, my Dad moved out of state and I got rid of my car. Fast forward to 2019. I found my car after all those years, bought it back and completely restored it. I recently broke 85K miles on it. Throughout this process, my son is very motivated to find my Dad's car. My son was less then a year old when my Dad passed. So in short, we are trying to find my Dad's car with the intent to restore it and have it for my son. My Dad lived in Mount Pleasant, Tx in 2006 when he sold the car. If anyone can help, I would be incredibly grateful and so would my boy.

I can give you, what I would do if I was you. 1) You need to have the vin# (If you have a old insurance card or policy it will have it on there) if not and you still continue to use the same insurance agaent he may still have it on file or maybe you remember the vin# NOTE IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE VIN# THEN YOU SHOULD STOP NOW AND GO NO FURTHER.
BUT if you have the vin# then continue below 2) Take the vin# and order a carfax on your vin# it will tell you where and when it was last registered (SHOULD YOU FIND OUT IT HAS NOT BEEN SCRAPED ) then continue on
3)So now if you have the vin# and the last place (city state registered) you need to have a friend in law enforcement) give him the information and he should be able to give you the exact address and who it is registered to.
That's what I would do...

To add more to what Fiero John said, I know someone who got his old vin, looked up the car on carfax, saw that a shop reported working on the car to carfax. Called the shop and they gave them the current owners contact info. [This message has been edited by Formula (edited 11-02-2022).]

I greatly appreciate your information and suggestions. I do have a VIN now and know where it was last titled based on carfax. Unfortunately the trail goes cold after 2006. It shows it was titled and nothing after. Does carfax show if something goes to the boneyard? I have absolutely no contacts in Texas lol otherwise I'd see about running a VIN number. Any other suggestions??

I haven't gotten far with a search. However I did try to use his license plate number as a custom design on the Texas DMV and it came back as "available". That means the owner either had his own custom plates made or if he kept the same plate as your dad, the vehicle no longer exists in the DMV records. That usually means that there has not been any activity on the vehicle for more than 7 years.
