Is it worth $6k?

"Clean" Carfax and other "reports" often means Very Little to Nothing.
Reason?
1. Is Many States Do Not give or sell data to 3rd parties like Carfax. Many Insurance Co's won't give/sell data to them too.

Likely has other problems you can't see easy. May not tell even if you "test drive" the car.

Suspension bushings & Brake parts for old cars even w/ low miles keep "rotting" regardless of driving or not.

Interior may look good now but can fall apart soon when you drive.
Worst is Seats especially where touches people goes brittle after years of sun light and dirt then soon is often "shattered" to small pieces and why many have aftermarket covers on them.

Once OE cover is bad/gone... UV etc quickly attacks the foam directly making harder to fix later.

Yes, I realize it's a 36yo car even though the mileage is low. Any guess what it's worth?

If it's a true low mileage car then yes, 5-6K is resonable in todays market. If the paint was perfect then expect to pay 8-10K in todays market.

Hard to say without seeing it.

But I would say 8-9 depending on a few things.

Faded paint at 16k sounds odd as most low mile cars were stored in side.

If a true low mile car come things may need fixed but no where as much as a 116,000 mile car.

Accident repair should be noticeable if it was done and you know what to look for.

Based on what you state paint and some minor work you may have a good car. The market has been going up on these cars and they are holding well.

Is there an asking price or is this an owner fishing expedition?
You could look at Bring A Trailer auction results, other auction and sales sites for comparable cars.
If the paint is badly faded, door seals, dashboard and other areas exposed to the sun merit examination.
Offer what you're willing to pay for it.

So I bought it. $4k. Filthy. Needs TLC but it's all there. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Well bought as most higher mile cars. Even with a top paint job you will still be under the value of the car.

Congrats. Is this your first Fiero? If it is, then welcome to the club.
