LS4Chop: Choptop getting an LS4-F23 swap (Page 1/1)

I’ve been sitting on this a few years now. Time to get it moving and off the jack stands.

First part is collecting parts. Then I decided to put some of them together.
Specs are:
2006 LS4. w/ 24T crank reluctor to run the 0411 pcm
LS6 intake
LS2 timing cover, cam and springs.
Starter mount is from Fieroguru

350rwhp/tq is the goal.

Flywheel was made by LSC a few years ago. Clutch will be a spec stage 3+

The engine is configured like an LS1 out of a 2001 Camaro. Wiring info can be found at lt1swap.com
The harness will be plug and play using the stock ECM location and the C500/C200 connectors
I also started drawing up the wiring diagrams in AutoCAD for future reference. I may post the PDF's when I'm done.

PCM is the 0411 DBC tuned by Ryan at Sinister Performance. www.gmtuners.com

I still have a long way to go. I haven't made mounts, shift linkage, exhaust etc. But it runs, just not in the car.

Harness started as a DBW truck harness. I then took it apart and made it into a ls1 DBC harness
I have multiple GM harnesses that I’ve stripped, so it was easy to grab a TPS and IAT sensor plug and wires to add back in.
The DBW PCM had a separate module to operate the throttle body motor. But no IAC or TPS.
I went this route because the trucks are plentiful at the yards. I have about $50 into my harness including extra pins. No wires will be spliced. In fact, using the truck harness will give me an extra 12”-24” of wire. Hence the extra pins. I plan to install the engine, feed the harness thru the firewall and cut and pin each wire to length.
I did my first startup just before Christmas.

Been a while since I've seen this car. I didn't know (or at least forgot) that it was getting an LS swap.
I'm looking forward to seeing your progress, and to seeing it on the road.
