I think those are a bit narrow; Back in 1982 I had 6.75" wide wheels on my Comet GT with 235 & 245 mm wide tires...You could drive down the street and wiggle the wheel and feel the car wiggle on the "Flabby" sidewalls. I found some Appliance Crosslace wheels that were 8" wide- installed them and then the car would react immediately to steering input- no wiggle at all.

Everyone goes with low sidewalls but a (properly) wide wheel will do (Basically) the same thing- support the tire tread properly. On my Fiero I am running 16 x 7 wheels (38 mm offset) and 205/55 front and 225/55 rear tires. They fill up the wheelwells, the speedo is actually accurate, and these two size tires were very common on a number of cars back in the 90s, so there are lots of options- I am running General G-Max tires which rate very highly in Tirerack testing.

Here is a pic of what mine looks like;

On America's Tires I found the Konig Lightning in a 16 x 7 size for $138 (And even better offset (40 mm) They only weigh 16 lbs, which will help with performance and feel.
