To all members of the Forum, just though I would introduce myself. Have been a long time fan of the late model Fieros for longer than I can remember. Living in Melbourne Australia they are not exactly thick on the ground but I finally decided to jump in and buy one. Have been watching the classifieds on and off for years but in the last week came across a car that really caught my interest and now I own it. The car is a 1988 GT and I think Im in love, it is also a automatic, some may not like this but a combination of age and health make it a better proposition for me. Anyway, looking forward to reading and participating in the forum so thanks for letting me in. Regards from Aus Pete.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the Forum. There are several Aussies here.

Tell us about your car. Was your '88 one of the two in Canberra? There are two beauties on the web: a red one and a white one.

I'm now in Bathurst with my two '86 GT's. Both are LHD. I've an '86 SE coupe in the US that will be coming home to Oz soon.

Feel free to reach out by PM anytime.

Thanks for the welcome, the car is now home and safe with me. It is a RHD conversion,2.8 V6 Automatic and generally in good condition. A few issues I have noticed on the drive home, the brakes are terrible, feels like the booster is inoperative, not keen about the pedal placement with the RHD conversion, the accelerator is quite offset to the left which makes the seating position a little crooked, slight muffler rattle and a few other rattles but think I have identified them and not serious, think the starter may need some work,it is effective but quite noisy, slight movement in the steering column (?) and steering is quite heavy, will check tyre pressures (what is recommended for front) and may consider if it is possible to add electric power steering. Otherwise, for the moment all is good and will see you all in the forums with many questions, thanks.
