Best quote from this story
"Despite the dangerous defects of early models, the Fiero has amassed a cult following."

I dunno, this seems definitive, lol!:
"By 1987, the number of 1984 models catching fire had risen to 20 per month."
'Freedom of speech' always needs a caveat: Reader (or listener) assumes responsibility for believing whatever the writer (or speaker) makes up.

No possibility of posting comments on either that article site or it's original website; A) The Fiero had only 176 catch fire (NHTSA number) or 260 (GM records) total during production...Which means it has a "Better than Average fire safety record".....Believe it or not, the Pinto is in the same catagory!
As for the Corvair, it is interesting to note that Ralphy "Nadir", the guy who wrote that book, "Unsafe at any speed", actually never had a driver's license- never drove a car...He is an arrogant- and very stupid- >>Fool<<.
Most people do not know which car is most likely to ACTUALLY catch fire; Lamborghinis! Do not turn on the radio or the ventilation fan (Whoosh!) (But it is OK to catch fire if the car costs $200,000+....Right?)
The Fiero is one of the safest cars ever made- except for the "Loose nut behind the wheel"....("speak for yourself, Eric!"....."I....am...")

Yeah. It would be nice if the authors actually, you know, knew something about cars.
