I have a lot of downtime at work while tests are running and I love to just sit and read through old forum posts. I always get a chuckle at how ugly things sometimes would turn out. Seems to be much more peaceful now (thankfully). Just having a little laugh. Good day yall.

I've been on this forum almost since the beginning and you are correct the discussions tended to be more heated early on. The audience was much younger back then and disagreements sometimes became personal. Perhaps youth and immaturity played a role but there is still a bit of sarcasm and strong discussion today especially about those who believe they know everything but know nothing. IMO, this forum is mild today. Go on the forums where the rice-burners hang out and you will always hear strong discussion with plenty of F words to boot. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I don't have any time of 'heated' discussions and to me, I enjoy a 'mature audience' which sees the differences of facts/reason vs. opinions/beliefs....

Seems like alot of the drama has moved onto Fiero FB...
Nice to have a more mature audience here

There's still a lot of nonsense that occurs in Politics & Religion... but fortunately, the tech forums here are now usually quite civil.

I was in high school when I first joined and now I'm an old geezer...
When I first joined I was wrong a lot, but would never admit to it, now 24 laters I realize that I am sometimes wrong. I bet the same thing happened with a lot of users on here.

Having different viewpoints is a good thing....And, obviously, if you don't admit your wrong (When you are) then you can't learn new things...

To me it feels kind of like the tail end of a big party or gathering- the loud and boisterous people have fllamed out of energy and gone home or to sleep, the troublemakers had their fill, drank to excess, and went home. Now it's the more mature/adult-like people hanging around, maybe having a drink, picking at the remaining snacks and hors d'oeuvre and having relaxing conversations, maybe a fire burning while we all sit around the room.
There was something to be said for the heightened activity, but, you also don't see the constant repetition of the same questions and answers by people who don't want to out in the effort of the search function or visiting the resources linked to via the forum.

Nothing like sitting around the cozy campfire of a freshly ignited 1984 Fiero SE engine bay. Really warms you up. lol

Aaahhh... The "good" ol' days... I'm wondering if the people responsible for so much crap are still the same little wankers as they were then or if they have actually matured to the point where they are ashamed of their past selves and their actions.
Unfortunately, there's still a lot of crap going on behind the scenes. For some reason, there are still people out there who hate me to the bone. I honestly have no idea why but they follow my every online move and try to "hurt" me wherever they can. For instance, I also have a presence on YouTube (since I'm also a DJ/Producer) and they dislike every video I post or post derogatory comments. Fortunately, it's easy for me to remove those comments and block them from commenting on any of my videos, but I can't stop them from disliking my videos.
Also, I still get the occasional hate-mail. Some even threaten to "kick my face in" if I ever come to the US. And to think I don't even know who these guys are. But they probably think that I'm behind all of the 30,000+ members here on PFF. Or that I have some sort of control over them. That I control them as if I'm Gru and the members of PFF are my minions.
Ah well. Such is the internet I guess.
