What is the best way to clean the factory snowflake wheels? I tried multiple chemicals, and the dust is baked on. I used the sponge drill adapter it worked well. But the sponge doesn't / can't get in the smaller holes.

I like this stuff. Spray and let soak, agitate a little, hose off and dry with a leaf blower. May need extra fingerwork getting into the smaller openings.

Snowflake? I never heard that one. Every one I know refers to them as “Lace” wheels. Anyways, I always did hate cleaning them in those little triangular depressions/holes. Believe me, when it comes to hard to reach spots, old toothbrushes and old paint brushes are your friend. 😀 I wouldn’t call myself an expert on dissolving brake dust, grease, road grime, etc but your just going to have to try various cleaners, let them sit for a few minutes, use your toothbrush and/or paint brush and you should be able to get most of the holes looking good. Me personally, I’ve been using Simple Green, not because it’s the strongest cleaner out there but because it’s safer on paint, plastic trim, etc. Kit[This message has been edited by Kitskaboodle (edited 08-06-2023).]

Snow flake is what most call the Trans Am wheels so it is Pontiac appropriate.
Just use a good clear coat wheel cleaner. Soak it down. Use a soft brush anf just get in the holes. Repeat if needed.
No not use a harsh cleaner that could damage the clear or the anodizing.
They should clean up as long as the clear is not too damaged.
At worse they may need restored.

Note: Old wheels of any design often cracks and other defects on the "Clear Coat" either painted or powder paint coating.
In those cases, Cleaner brake dust etc is harder to impossible to do even w/ above chemicals.
Once the Clear Coat is bad or gone... brake dust and more will "attack" the alloy and be very hard to polish and keep it that way often for Days to maybe a few weeks.
I once remove the Clear Coat paint because so bad then force to wax them to made the wheel look ok and try to keep crap off them.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
