Seeing everyone is so broke up about OEM Windshields from suppliers that bailed on us, here is my China produced Windshield that looks the part and fits the car perfect without any issues. It has a sun shield banner, has the dot matrix border. This has been installed in my car for over 2 years now so the part number should be rather current. no complaints about this windshield, and to think I payed 3x the price for the last PPG Windshield they could find here only for it to take a rock and crack badly at the first opportunity.

ya the windshield looks cloudy in one pic, but it hasn't been cleaned yet, just installed and back into the body shop. It is crystal clear.

I believe you. There is nothing wrong with a newer windshield even if it was made in China.

Yeah... the easiest way to collect a rock chip on a windshield is to buy a new one.
As an aside... Odd that my 88 coupe from the west coast still seems to have its original windshield. It's completely un-blemished. You'd think it would be sand pitted, since the car has 150K+, and it spent some years in Vegas. Now the "blue" band across the top has turned amber, but still...

The problem here in Canada is that there are none available here.
Well, there is 1, but it has scratches on it.
Getting windshields here wasn't an issue a few years ago, but they are pretty much extinct in Canada now and if you want one you are paying big $$$ to have it brought in from the US it seems as all the glass shops I talk to seem to want to pass along the cost of shipping since they are all now claiming it to be a specialty item.
Of course, if anyone has different info I would like to hear it - this is what I recently found as of a couple weeks ago while looking for a spare.

$350 Canadian? That's about $260 USD. That's a good price!

These guys ship internationally so give them a call and ask for a shipping quote. I think they're in Ohio so just a 57 mile row boat ride across Lake Erie from London Ontario https://koolkatzautoglass.c...windshield-brand-new[This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 09-28-2023).]
