Hi everyone, Because the only local annual drag race got cancelled last month, I've been missing my adrenalin fix! So here is a selection of short videos that I've created from my Turbo Slug archives:

Nice! That's awesome. The best part is that, not only is the car awesome in the straights... but you were really taking it to that Lotus Exige!!!

Yeah... You should see the state of my brake discs (rotors) after chasing down the Lotus: overheated and glazed!
I'll try to find some footage of hurting the Porsche drivers' feelings. 😉------------------ "Turbo Slug" - '87 Fiero GT. 3800 turbo. - The fastest Fiero in France! @turboslugfiero https://youtu.be/c4Cu7_2OgYc

I would definitely like to see that. I'm a huge fan of the 944 (used to have one), but a bigger fan of the Fiero!
Was it a 944 or something else?

No. Most of the time it's classic Porches, but from time to time I get to play with the newer ones. They really have to work hard to get me out of a bend. (Turbo Slug pulls hard, much harder than they were expecting!) They usually get me with the late braking; I have to let off earlier or I end up in the gravel!------------------ "Turbo Slug" - '87 Fiero GT. 3800 turbo. - The fastest Fiero in France! @turboslugfiero https://youtu.be/hUzOAeyWLfM

Those would be really sweet to watch. Do you have any longer YouTube videos that aren't shorts that show you track-racing?

Here are some early attemps at making videos: (Attention, sometimes very boring!)
P.S. I've added a couple more "shorts" to the list on the 1st page/message. (I can't seem to make the shorts embed in the message like the 3 vids above? Format short not accepted by PFF?) ------------------ "Turbo Slug" - '87 Fiero GT. 3800 turbo. - The fastest Fiero in France! @turboslugfiero https://youtu.be/hUzOAeyWLfM[This message has been edited by Frenchrafe (edited 10-08-2023).]

Man, you almost had that Lotus on several turns... you were like Alain Prost out there, but with a Lewis Hamilton 2007 season finish.
What kind of brakes do you have on your Fiero? Were they stock at the time? When I was 18/19... I'd often drive like this through the streets of Miami (very irresponsibly) and I'd constantly get brake fade. I ended up having to replace my rotors and pads at least 3 times in the span of only 2 years. As a much older dude with a child... I'll go 100k miles now without ever changing pads or rotors on a car!
Did you figure out what was causing the overheating? Was it just not enough air velocity to the radiator for the amount of work you were putting on the motor?
Also, yeah... Shorts seems pretty new, so I don't see a lot of forums that support it yet.

I have Grand Am vented discs all round. Grand Am calipers up front and Seville calipers on the rear. They will still overheat a little, but no bad brake fade like stock discs. The radiator was partially clogged with 30 years of rust and sludge. Plus I think the radiator cap would lose pressure from time to time. I fitted a 3 core aluminium radiator since. I even fitted a huge 40cm Mishimoto fan recently for this years drag race (that then got cancelled☹️😭).

It can be done... but as I've mentioned to you previously Rafe, vertical video sucks (especially on a PC monitor).
