I'm trying to take the door panels off my '88 Fiero GT to fix the window dew wipes and replace the window motors. There are 4 bolts on the door latch side of the door, and 3 on the hinge side, that hold the outer panel to the door frame. Unfortunately, it looks like the middle bolt on the hinge side is kind of stripped. Other than the usual extractor techniques, does anyone have any ideas how to remove it? It's in an awful place where it's really challenging to get many tools in there.
thanks![This message has been edited by neek (edited 10-15-2023).]

If I remember, those torx bolts have a plastic coating on them. If you can dig out the excess from the bottom of the screw head, the torx wrench will go is farther and have better grip. [This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 10-15-2023).]

Thanks I will take a look at these. But now I'd like to make sure I can get this bolt out. I think I need to lubricate the window track, and, well, I don't want to leave a bolt like this.
It feels like the torx wrench seats nicely, but pops up out of the bolt when I try to turn it, no matter how much pressure I apply. I will try a flat screwdriver to see if I can get it into the socket, and also try a few others torx wrenches. Just curious if others have techniques. I'd be happy to remove the plastic, but this is a very hard-to-reach screw.
