Help a father-son project before he passes? (Page 1/1)

Merry Christmas everyone! I used to lurk on here a bit but mainly I'm on here now as a favor for a long time member and friend. I'd like to help him get his Fiero back on the road.

I'll have to dig up his username (FieroGT42) and details on the car, but I know he was on here almost 20 years ago! As I recall, he pulled the engine over 10 years ago to fix a few things and through some terrible luck with a landlord the entire engine got ruined and parts walked off. Then he broke his spine and spent years recovering. He dedicated the last decade just volunteering to help disabled family and as an officer in an international anti child abuse charity with nothing in exchange. I remember him spending a lot of time trying to help people on here and working on people's cars for free, and I was hoping the community could see what they can do to help him out.

It was his first car and he spent so much time and money on it. It was also a father-son project too and his father never got to drive/ride in it. Now he's saying his dad might not even live past another year or 2. He's talked about getting it together again to show him but it really seems to tear him apart that it's been so long. His father also feels terrible about something to do with the engine getting ruined and parts going missing, so I think this could help heal that too. He said he can't do it himself anymore and probably doesn't have the friends/family make it happen.

I'll have to get more info, but it would mean the world to him to have it on the road before his father passes, if anyone is able to donate their expertise, maybe help locate some parts here and there. I don't think he even reads this site now because it's too overwhelming so maybe it can be a surprise in a way.

I'll be in touch with more details on the car itself beside that it was a red GT called "Fiamma". Thanks so much, merry Christmas and God bless!
~Ashley
