Hey everyone! There was already a 'Dustin' registered, so I'm NewDustin. I hope this is the right Forum/Topic for this post.
I'm from Las Vegas, and I've loved Fieros since I was a kid. I've put together my dream Fiero a dozen times in my head, but until now I've never had the capacity for a two seater or project car. That's right: Until now! We've moved into a larger place, things are going well, and I finally have the space, resources, and 'ok' from my wife to pick up one up! I've lurked here for years, and read through countless topics...I figured it was time to introduce myself and consult the experts!
I love the way the Fiero looks, but there is an "almost there" feel for every iteration in my opinion. I've always wanted to own a 3800sc or LS-swapped 1988 GT with a few exterior body modifications (maybe the fierosidescoops.com scoops and an F355 front bumper). I loved Yellowstone's Fiero very much (I know that's an '87).
I've been doing a lot of looking, and not finding a whole lot out there, but I'm being patient. I've been using Autotrader and Craigslist because a lot of the auto websites I've found are either a) Mostly scams or b) Expensive and/or sketchy consignment places. Is there a better website you all have found? Could/should I be thinking about any of this differently? Really any advice you all have for a first time Fiero buyer looking to satisfy a life-long dream is welcome and appreciated!

facebook marketplace is a good place to look, many fieros on there, just you will be dealing directly with the seller, so be careful, as scams are still a possiblity. If using marketplace, if the fiero is anywhere near you, dont ask too many questions initially, go over in person straight away, ask questions with the actual car in front of you, sellers like that, and that got me my fiero for $1000 less, with the seller holding it for 4 months until spring last year for a $500 deposit. Car questions work better in person.

Post over in the Mall that you are looking to buy an 88GT. Specify if you can travel to pick it up or you want one near Vegas.
Here's one in Utah with no bids. https://www.ebay.com/itm/25...d:g:foIAAOSwXLplHyhF[This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 01-05-2024).]

This was really good advice. I don't (well...didn't) have a Facebook, but set one up just to check. I found 2 right away, and one that the seller replied immediately to! I'll keep an eye out for scams, but this was immediately more fruitful than any other place I've looked.
Thanks! I'll put a post up over there! I actually called that dealership about that car. They have two for sale, that one and a white one with a spoiler, and both are almost $20k...more than I want to spend

Yeah I didn't have Facebook either, just used my dad's haha, using some ingenuity one can browse marketplace without an account, some links just don't work without an account though, and other features are broken.

It is what it is. I don't want to feed into the Meta information machine but I want a Fiero; I'll give and take where I can and remove my account as soon as I've found one lol! I really do appreciate it; if this comes to fruition you all saved me quite a bit of money and a long drive (and/or paying even more for shipping)!

Hi NewDustin, this is the right place. Congratulations on receiving the okay from the wife ! That's a hugh hurdle.
I sold a cherry 88 Formula a few years ago here on the forum. You may find a member here that is ready to let one of their toys go.
Wish you luck & welcome to the forum.
