I stumbled upon this article while mindlessly surfing the web today.

"The first cars of famous auto enthusiasts"

You know.. Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Carroll Shelby etc...

Well, it turns out current GM CEO Mary Barra had a Fiero in her youth! I love it!

The organizers of the big Fiero shows in the mid-west should try to get her as a guest speaker at one of the annual events!

Mary Barra - Chevrolet Chevette

Mary Barra is the boss of General Motors and the first female CEO of a major global auto company. She’s also a gearhead and fell in love with her cousin’s Chevrolet Camaro when she was 10 years old.

When she was old enough to drive, she wanted to cure her muscle car itch by almost buying a Pontiac Firebird but, bound for college, decided to buy a cheaper Chevrolet Chevette instead. She kept the Chevette for a few years before upgrading to a Pontiac Fiero. All prescient decisions given where she ended up.

Unfortunately the position comes with a price and a high level of security. She was invited to attend the 40th and rumor had it that she would have liked to have attended; however, the logistics and her schedule made it impossible. Maybe one day when she retires!
