My preference is the '84 SE style but this looks pretty slippery cd-wise... (Page 1/1) |

If that landscape doesn't scream South Florida, then I don't know what does. I'd put that somewhere between Central Florida, and Homestead... possibly somewhere on the west coast near Naples. I see the plate says Michigan, but Michigan sure as **** doesn't have Sabal Palms growing like that, or stucco buildings painted turquoise with 80s garage lights!
I agree with you though... 84 SE is ideally my favorite body style. And actually... with a luggage rack.
I had one back in the day and still miss int...

While car looks "ok" to many & I sort of like the new body except... New body may violate special tag rules & normal rules too.
Like Most to all of the external lighting rules in Michigan & other states if drive in/thru them. If anyone have to get a "normal" tag... Will Fail Inspections in most states require that because of Lights, missing Reflectors, etc. Cops in most states can stop you for light problems anyway.
Michigan like other states have rules when/how to get & keep Historic/Antique tags.
If the Fiero had the tag Before the new body, new body may violate those rules.
This problem is not uncommon because many mod the body & don't bother checking rules about special tags, lights, bumper(s), & more before doing whatever. Example: Many "jack" trucks have problems because bumper & lights are too high + Height limit often are different between states so maybe legal only locally. That's on top very bad lift project using all kinds of crap to do them & why some states require extra Inspections for lifted trucked.
E2A--> New body might be "fun" to drive on the highway or get hit by wind... Fiero has some problems w/ high winds already.

I'm guessing that's why this car is in Florida now... we have statutes and regulations, but other than safety requirements (working turn signals and headlights), they no longer enforce these rules. We have no state safety or emissions inspections. People could put a tank motor in the back of their Fiero and drive it around.
I cut the roof off a Cadillac Eldorado like 25 years ago. We found it on a vacant lot and had it registered and insured with a plate later that day. We drove it around like that for a year until it was stolen... hahah...
... and yes, this was me like 20 years ago.[This message has been edited by 82-T/A [At Work] (edited 01-24-2024).]

Propositions are all wrong.
Real designers scale the hood ,nose and green house to compliment in size to each other.
This is like the Ferrari kit on a Fiero test just was not scales down to look right.
