My assumption is that this picture is of an early prototype Fiero, perhaps one of the running mules as they call it.
The switch pods are different, of course... and you can see the center console mirror controls are also different (along with the power windows).
But the biggest thing worth mentioning here, is the extra gauge pod....
From left to right:
- Voltage Gauge - Turbo Boost Gauge - Oil Pressure Gauge - (Underneath) Subwoofer LED strip w/ Power Button
... also take note that the tachometer also has the oil pressure gauge at the bottom as well.
Anyone ever seen this before? To be honest, it's kind of cool...

Likely from the 2.9 turbo prototypes, from which the 2.8 got its exhaust and intake systems, at the Fiero 40th, at the speaker event they talked a lot about the 2.9 prototype, it was basically finished and ready for the car but some top guy took the prototype for a drive and spun it out, and said it was to much for the public to handle, so they took the intake and exhaust and put it on the normal 2.8 to make a few extra hp. 1985 Fieros, first year with v6 had the oil gauge in the tach, and had no option yet for the center pod, so they used standard production cluster, with a prototype pod, which made it to production in 1986 as the oil and volt gauge, missing the turbo.

It's interesting. And I've also never seen it before.

I went through my photos of the 25th show and edited this one of the turbo concept car. The interior looks stock other than the Miller Woods gauge on the dash.I thought that MAYBE they used that center pod on this car, but nope.

good thought, but the SD4 wasnt turbo'd so there would be no need for a boost gauge
